Senior HR & Payroll Audit Consultant

Work Arrangement:

Remote, casual engagement (22 hours/week guaranteed for the first month; hours may vary based on project needs; potential transition to full-time after 36 months)

Compensation:PHP 500600 per hour

Estimated Monthly Equivalent:PHP 47,50057,000 per month (based on 22 hours/week)

Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Payroll Audit Specialist with deep experience in Australian payroll compliance, award interpretation, and HR governance. The role involves leading end-to-end payroll audits, analysing data, identifying compliance issues, and preparing audit findings for senior stakeholders. You'll work heavily with Community Services sector awards, including SCHADS, Aged Care, Nurses, and others. This role suits someone analytical, detail-focused, and confident handling complex audit work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct full historical payroll audits using data from systems such as Xero, MYOB, and HumanForce
  • Review and reconcile payments, overtime, penalties, allowances, sleepover provisions, superannuation, and long service leave
  • Interpret awards including SCHADS, Aged Care, Nurses, and Clerks to ensure accurate classifications and compliance
  • Assess HR governance, contracts, onboarding, policies, and related documents
  • Identify breaches under the Fair Work Act, NES, and payslip legislation
  • Support the preparation of audit reports and payroll calculations
  • Assist in producing reports and materials for CEO, CFO, and board-level review
  • Attend meetings aligned with AEST/AEDT hours
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy across all work
  • Coordinate with the Head of People & Projects for guidance, QA checks, and deliverables

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in HR, IR, or payroll audit workStrong background in Australian Fair Work compliance and award interpretationFamiliarity with community services awards (SCHADS, Aged Care, Nurses, Clerks)
  • Experience preparing detailed audit reports and reconciliation work
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Background in HRIS, payroll systems, or workforce management tools
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Availability during AEST/AEDT hours
  • Bonus: Australian HR or payroll qualifications, EBA interpretation experience
