Job Description
- Create, reconcile, and record all payroll-related journal entries for seven entities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and research issues related to reconciliations for payroll-related accounts
- Manages the registration of new company locations with state and local tax agencies for all payroll tax entities
- Maintain audit ready reviews of all payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations
- Audit and import vendor benefit files into UKG; research errors and work with payroll manager and HRIS to resolve and implement improvements to process
- Audit tax set-up for all new employees daily to ensure accuracy
- Perform regular and periodic employee tax set-up audits for 5000+ employees
- Track and audit garnishment set up by third party vendor; research and resolve issues in timely manner to ensure compliance with federal and state laws
- Assist payroll manager with new state and local tax application process
- Assist in internal and external audit process; track and assist with regulatory compliance
- Ad hoc analysis and project work as directed by Management
- Provide analysis and reporting support for internal/external business partners
- Serves as back-up for payroll processing to payroll specialist positions
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing additional tasks as needed
- Liaison for internal and external customers
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus
- Demonstrable basic understanding of and ability to apply US GAAP
- Strong analytical skills and a strong sense of curiosity
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLookup)
- Accounting/HR systems: NetSuite, UKG and Workiva a plus
