We are looking for a Paralegal.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Paralegal role based in Pasig. Responsibilities include paralegal services and assistance to the lawyers; perform liaison activities to and establishes/maintains harmonious working relationships with stakeholders (including ERC, DOE, IEMOP, PEMC, NGCP, SEC, LGUs, and other government agencies); recommend initiatives towards better communications with external stakeholders; handle submissions and filings with the regulators and other government agencies, and external stakeholders; network with external stakeholders to promote advocacy efforts and activities in the power industry, particularly in the retail supply sector; and perform tasks under set directions, policies, guidelines and procedures.

  • Provide paralegal support to lawyers through legal research, document preparation, case monitoring, and analysis of regulatory matters.
  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with ERC, DOE, other government agencies, MERALCO offices, and various power industry stakeholders.
  • Gather, verify, and organize legal information to support the preparation of contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Monitor industry and regulatory websites, disseminate relevant laws and issuances, and assist in ensuring timely compliance with reportorial and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain databases and networks of government agencies, policymakers, electric cooperatives, and distribution utilities to support industry intelligence and collaboration.
  • Assist in filing cases, submitting reports, and handling liaison activities with various government bodies.
  • Represent the company in informal meetings or discussions with regulators and stakeholders when needed and recommend initiatives to strengthen regulatory relationships.

Qualifications

  • College degree of any 4-year course
  • Preferably with knowledge and understanding of the power industry
  • Preferably with paralegal training or experience
  • Great at multi-tasking, with keen attention to details
  • Can drive M/T or A/T vehicles an advantage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel outside the jurisdiction of Meralco
