Role Overview
We are looking for a highly dependable and proactive legal professional who will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's smooth and compliant interaction with government agencies, LGUs, regulators, and contractual counterparties.
This is a hands-on, field-facing role that goes beyond desk work. The ideal candidate must be comfortable engaging directly with external stakeholders, confidently asserting statutory timelines, and ensuring that the organization's interests are properly represented and protected in all regulatory and contractual interactions. Strong initiative, sound judgment, and integrity are essential, as this role operates at the front line of compliance and regulatory execution.
Responsibilities
Core Paralegal Functions
Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, prepare pleadings, and assist in contract review.
Maintain organized case files, regulatory submissions, and contract documentation.
Support OGC attorneys in litigation preparation, due diligence, and internal advisory work.
Manage document tracking, version control, and compliance calendars.
Assist in monitoring contractual obligations and regulatory risks.
Regulator & Counterparty Interface
Serve as the OGC's on-the-ground representative with government agencies, LGUs, and
regulatory bodies, acting under the direction of OGC attorneys.
Personally file, follow up, and secure regulatory submissions, permits, certifications, and
clearances.
Assert and monitor timelines under the Citizen's Charters of relevant agencies, ensuring
compliance with statutory processing periods.
Coordinate with counterparties to contracts for signatures, notarization, clarifications, and
document exchanges.
Attend meetings, hearings, and conferences with regulators as required.
Compliance & Administrative Support
Track regulatory updates, issuances, and compliance requirements affecting the organization.
Prepare reports, summaries, and compliance matrices for OGC review.
Assist in internal audits, risk assessments, and policy implementation.
Required Qualifications
College Education
At least 2–4 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a corporate or regulatory-heavy
environment.
Demonstrated experience dealing with:
Local Government Units (LGUs)
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
Strong working knowledge of Citizen's Charters and the ability to assert statutory timelines
in dealings with government offices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability and willingness to work independently, perform fieldwork, and manage multiple
deadlines.
Preferred / Highly Advantageous Background or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Political Science, or related field; Paralegal
certification is a plus.
Prior engagement with the Department of Energy (DOE) and Energy Regulatory Commission
(ERC).
Experience handling regulatory filings, compliance submissions, or permit processing in the
energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
Familiarity with contract administration and regulatory due diligence.
Ideally lives in the NCR area.
