Role Summary:

The Meters Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate disposition of variable billing charges, meter read collection, meter read validation, and billing package preparation based on contract requirements. Responsible for assigned accounts to support the creation of a billing package to be inspected, making necessary revisions for re-inspection, ensuring package accuracy timely delivery according to the customer and contractual specifications. Accountable for achieving business objectives, communication and maintaining focus on customer satisfaction and professional customer support.

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • Fluent in English with clear business communication.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, and analytical skills; maintains performance under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and ability to self-manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; positive, flexible, open to feedback.
  • Customer advocacy and relationship skills; team-oriented self-starter.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sort/filter, formulas, formatting), Outlook, and Word.
  • Adjust effectively to new processes, structures, requirements, or cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disposition variable billing charges monthly for supported contracts.
  • Collect meter reads within specified timeframes; validate and correct readings to ensure invoice accuracy.
  • Prepare, upload, and submit accurate billing packages; revise and submit as needed.
  • Maintain and update the Billing & Reporting Data Repository and backups.
  • Plan cycle activities to meet deadlines and priorities month after month.
  • Work directly with internal and external customers to support the invoice creation process.
  • Analyze issues and provide solutions aligned with service levels; perform additional tasks assigned by the Manager.

Key Outputs / Tangible Results:

  • Timely, accurate billing packages that meet customer and contractual specifications.
  • Validated meter reads and corrected variances for accurate invoicing.
  • Accurate documentation and repository updates support auditability.
  • Clear stakeholder communication that enables smooth invoice creation.
  • Consistent achievement of SLA commitments for prebilling activities

  • Operational efficiency and billing accuracy through disciplined prebilling controls.
  • Positive customer experience via reliable, on-time billing package delivery.
  • Compliance with Xerox standards and contract requirements.
  • Continuous improvement across variable charge disposition and meter read processes.

Relevant Credentials:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • 2+ years billing experience in corporate or financial setting (desired)
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Role Considerations:

  • Willing to support North America/ US Time and Holidays
  • Flexibility of working schedules as the role will require on a per need basis
