1. Role Purpose
The O&M Manager for Distributed Generation is responsible for the operational performance, safety, and technical integrity of a large portfolio of solar PV assets located on Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sites. Unlike utility-scale O&M, this role focuses on managing a high volume of distributed sites through digital platforms and a network of local service providers.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Operational Performance & Asset Reliability
- KPI Management: Lead the monitoring of key metrics across the fleet, including Performance Ratio (PR), Technical Availability, Uptime, and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Remote Monitoring: Oversee the daily performance of sites via the monitoring platforms; identify underperforming assets and trigger corrective actions.
- Incident Management: Drive the resolution of technical failures, coordinating between monitoring teams, local country managers, and external contractors.
B. Contractor & Contract Management
- O&M Service Providers: Select, onboard, and manage local O&M contractors. Ensure they perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to the contractual Scope of Work (SoW).
- Contractual Compliance: Enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and manage warranty claims with equipment manufacturers (inverters, modules, etc.).
- Procurement: Coordinate the procurement of spare parts and specialized services to minimize downtime.
C. HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) & Quality
- Zero Fatality Goal: Uphold the company's Golden Rules for safety. Ensure all contractors comply with strict rooftop safety and electrical safety standards.
- Site Audits: Conduct periodic site inspections and quality control (QC) audits to verify that maintenance work meets company technical standards.
- Documentation: Manage the archival of all maintenance reports and HSE logs within the company's asset management system.
D. Digitalization & Reporting
- CMMS Integration: Ensure all maintenance activities are logged in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Reporting: Prepare monthly performance reports for senior management, detailing energy yield vs. budget and maintenance cost optimization.
- Innovation: Contribute to the improvement of digital tools for predictive maintenance and automated reporting.
3. Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 58 years in O&M, specifically within the Solar PV industry. Direct experience with Distributed Generation (DG) or C&I rooftops is highly preferred.
- Regional Experience: Proven track record in managing contractors across different jurisdictions and cultures.
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of Solar PV components (Inverters, LV/MV systems, Monitoring/SCADA).
- Proficiency in data analysis and monitoring software (e.g., PVSyst, Meteocontrol, GPM, or internal platforms).
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and rooftop work protocols.
Soft Skills
- Transverse Leadership: Ability to influence and lead teams without direct reporting lines (dotted-line management).
- Problem Solving: A practical, hands-on approach to troubleshooting technical and logistical issues.
- Language: Fluency in English is mandatory; local languages for the region are often a significant advantage.
