Operational Risk Officer (Davao City)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Primarily responsible for the review and updating of the Bank's Operational Risk Management policies, ensuring alignment with the parent bank.

 Responsible for the preparation and timely dissemination of operational risk reports, including monitoring of compliance and operational risk exposures to the Chief Risk Officer, BDO ORMU, and senior management.

 Provide assistance to the Chief Risk Officer in the implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework and Strategy, including Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Information Security, and in monitoring compliance of Business Units to Operational Risk requirements.

 Provide assistance to the Data Protection Officer in implementing the Data Protection Policy, by liaising with the Compliance Officers for Privacy (COPs) for the timely receipt of applicable Data Privacy Reports and Requirements.

 Liaise with insourced service providers to ensure timely performance of outsourced tasks for the servicing and serviced units.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of any business-related course, preferably with a postgraduate degree or commensurate training experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience in risk management or a related control function within a bank or financial institution, with a strong foundation in operational risk and working knowledge of credit risk and/or market and liquidity risk.
• Strong analytical skills / Effective written and verbal communications skills / Above-average skills in various computer applications / Sufficient understanding/appreciation of the goals, processes and concerns of various business and service units to be able to provide a balanced perspective between business expediency and risk control / Excellent people management skills
