Location: Santa Rosa Laguna - Onsite/Full time

Pay range: 47,000+3000 allowance

Working hours: 6am-3pm

Start date: Immediate.

Position Overview

The Offshore Billing Officer is responsible for high-volume, accurate medical billing and patient administration functions supporting Australian operations.

This is a production-based, KPI-driven role requiring strong attention to detail, consistent system presence, and the ability to process work efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with Medicare, health fund, and client requirements.

The role is critical to Medbill's service delivery and requires disciplined time management, proactive communication, and reliable daily output.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Processing:

  • Perform end-to-end medical billing for assigned providers and specialties.
  • Accurately create patient records and billing entries in line with instructions.
  • Verify billing data using HIC Online, Eclipse, and other relevant systems.
  • Review and resolve billing rejections, exceptions, and duplicates.
  • Submit claims in accordance with Medicare, Health Fund, and client rules.
  • Maintain up-to-date billing instructions for each doctor and specialty.
  • Monitor work queues and action items within required timeframes.

Compliance & Quality

  • Research and apply MBS, AMA, and Health Fund billing rules.
  • Maintain high data accuracy standards across all entries.
  • Identify and escalate billing anomalies or risks.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with Australian privacy requirements.
  • Participate in quality reviews and continuous improvement activities.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Provide timely updates to the Billing & Compliance Manager.
  • Escalate blockers, system issues, or unclear instructions promptly.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain professional communication with onshore stakeholders.

Core KPIs (Daily Performance Requirements)

The Offshore Billing Officer is expected to consistently achieve one or more of the following daily production targets:

  • 100+ patient records created per day, and/or
  • 100+ invoices processed per day, and/or
  • $50,000+ billing value processed per day.

In Addition, The Following Operational KPIs Apply

  • Billing completed within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Error rate maintained within acceptable quality thresholds.
  • Work queues maintained in current status (no unmanaged backlog).
  • Adherence to rostered hours and timekeeping requirements.

Performance is monitored daily, weekly, and monthly. Sustained underperformance may trigger performance management.

Work Visibility & System Requirements

The employee must:

  • Maintain active presence in systems during rostered hours.
  • Accurately clock in/out using the approved timekeeping tool.
  • Keep MS Teams (or nominated platform) active and responsive.
  • Send start-of-day and end-of-day updates to their Leader.
  • Maintain stable internet and power suitable for continuous work.

Essential

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong written English communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work in high-volume processing roles.
  • Strong time management and self-discipline in remote work.
  • Comfortable using multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and suitable home office.

Highly Regarded

  • Medical billing experience (Australia preferred).
  • Experience with Medicare, Eclipse, or similar platforms.
  • Background in healthcare administration or revenue cycle.
  • Experience working with offshore BPO.
