About the Role

The Officer Business Development- Commercial - Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) operates within a competitive and fast-moving market where customer responsiveness and sector knowledge are key to success. The position bridges business development, solution design, and account management, focusing on the unique logistics requirements of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) clients particularly around speed, freshness, and network reliability.

The role works closely with Operations, Pricing, and Regional Commercial teams to create tailored logistics solutions that address supply chain challenges for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. The Officer is expected to build and manage a pipeline of opportunities, from prospecting to contract closure, while ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term retention.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare and submit pricing proposals within agreed deadlines.
• Build and maintain competitive pricing models for warehousing, distribution, freight, customs clearance, trucking / barging, inland logistics terminal and value-added services.
• Ensure all pricing proposals meet profitability guidelines and margin targets.
• Work closely with Operations and Finance to validate cost structures and feasibility of solutions.
• Provide pricing analysis and benchmarking against market trends and competitor tariffs.
• Support the Business Development (BD) team during bid defenses and client negotiations with pricing insights.
• Maintain a central database of tariffs, rates, and cost assumptions for quick reference.
• Generate post-bid reports to analyze performance and recommend improvements.
• Assist in the development of pricing strategies for targeted industries (Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), retail, manufacturing, e-commerce).
• Ensure compliance with the company's commercial governance and approval processes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Marketing
• 35 years of experience in business development, commercial, or account management roles within logistics or freight forwarding.
• Knowledge of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) supply chain flows, temperature-sensitive cargo, and fast-moving operations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Customer Relationship Management tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent).
• Certifications in Sales, Key Account Management, or Supply Chain
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Must have a valid driver's license
