Description
An O&M Technician is responsible for ensuring that technical systems, equipment, or infrastructure operate efficiently through routine monitoring, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role is common in industries such as telecommunications, utilities, manufacturing, and IT infrastructure.
Purpose of the Role
To maintain the reliability, performance, and availability of equipment and systems by performing scheduled maintenance, responding to faults, and supporting operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems
- Monitor system performance and respond to alarms or incidents
- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and documentation
- Support installation, upgrades, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate with vendors and other technical teams
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or related field
- Experience in maintenance or operations (telecom or technical environment preferred)
- Knowledge of tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety standards
