Description
The Telecom O&M Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and network infrastructure. This role ensures optimal network performance, minimal downtime, and high service quality.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on telecom equipment (e.g., switches, routers, base stations, fiber optics).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, signal quality, and hardware failures.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new network equipment and infrastructure.
- Document maintenance activities, service reports, and network incidents accurately.
- Coordinate with engineers, field teams, and other departments to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and company policies.
- Support network upgrades and expansions as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma, vocational training, or technical degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Experience in telecom, networking, or IT operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of telecommunications equipment, network protocols, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work on-site, including towers or remote locations.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
