What You'll Do
- Support indirect tax reporting in various countries.
- Address reporting issues and ensure that compliance is done in a timely manner.
- Help to identify countries in which new registrations are required, issues with missing data relating to customers, and ensuring that registrations are completed in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly Avalara reconciliations for US sales tax filings.
- Prepare periodic VAT/GST/HST reconciliations for review and filing.
- Assisting with analyzing VAT/GST threshold exposure reviews.
- Review of compliance with sales tax resale certificate collection as well as data integrity for VAT/GST numbers, as our internal customer master data has inconsistently collected this information in the past.
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years total public/private experience and/or post-secondary degree in tax, accounting, or finance.
- Strong communication skills; an excellent knowledge of English (both written and oral).
- Excellent computer proficiency and high level of competency in Excel.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to identify deadlines and prioritise workloads in collaboration with the indirect tax specialist in Dundee.
- Knowledge of VAT and GST tax concepts and compliance obligations is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve and work on own initiative.
- Experience in working to strict deadlines.
- Team player with strong analytical, finance, and accounting skills.
