Network Security Engineeris responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the entire infrastructure's security postureencompassing network systems, servers, endpoints, cloud platforms, and perimeter defenses. This role goes beyond traditional network responsibilities, ensuring that all layers of infrastructure are secured against internal and external threats. Key responsibilities include configuring and managing networking devices (e.g., Firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points), securing endpoints and servers through hardening and patch management, implementing identity and access controls, and proactively monitoring for threats across the environment. The engineer plays a critical role in safeguarding organizational and client assets by conducting regular security assessments, responding to incidents, and aligning with best practices and regulatory frameworks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Network Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure including Firewall, routers, switches, access points, IP phone and other networking devices. Plan and implement network upgrades and expansions.
- Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and outages promptly.
- Security Management: Implement and manage security measures such as Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
- Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic for unusual activity or potential security breaches. Use network monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Incident Response: Respond to security incidents and breaches, performing root cause analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree either Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)
- With at least 3 years of experience in Network and Security
- Must be a CCNA Certified
Must have knowledge on the following:
Network Fundamentals
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP
- Ability to perform subnetting and VLAN configuration
- Familiarity with routing protocols and path selection
- Knowledge of NAT, PAT, and access control techniques
- Skills in designing and troubleshooting LAN/WAN Networks
- Understanding of network topology and segmentation

- Competence in configuring and managing Firewalls, switches, and routers
