Job Description

Job Summary

The NOC Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and security infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. The role involves L1L2 incident handling, network monitoring, firewall administration, and coordination with ISPs and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security using SNMP-based tools, alerts, and uptime monitoring systems
  • Troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers, including VLAN, trunk, STP, and port security issues
  • Perform basic routing configurations and troubleshooting (static routing, basic OSPF)
  • Administer firewalls (FortiGate), including inbound/outbound security policies, NAT, VIP, and port forwarding
  • Support VPN connectivity (site-to-site and remote access)
  • Analyze logs and traffic to identify incidents, anomalies, and potential security threats
  • Handle L1L2 incidents, escalate issues as needed, and ensure proper documentation and shift handover
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP-related issues
  • Coordinate with ISPs for connectivity issues and service restoration
  • Support basic cybersecurity incident response and security best practices
  • Maintain accurate ticketing records and technical documentation
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules and on-call support as required
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years experience in NOC, network operations, or IT network support
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco networking devices
  • Working knowledge of firewall administration (FortiGate preferred)
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident handling processes
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
