Role Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer Team Lead to support and lead our network operations. This role combines hands-on network engineering with technical leadership and team guidance. The ideal candidate is a senior network engineer who can troubleshoot complex issues, maintain secure and reliable network infrastructure, and mentor a team of engineers in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN)
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and act as the technical escalation point for network incidents
- Manage firewall and network security controls, preferably using FortiGate
- Implement and support VPN connectivity (IPSec site-to-site and remote access VPNs)
- Support SD-WAN connectivity, traffic steering, and failover
- Lead and mentor Network Engineers and NOC personnel
- Develop and enforce network standards, SOPs, and best practices
- Coordinate network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities
- Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and incident reports
- Support audits and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC 2)
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience with enterprise networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Firewall and network security experience (policies, segmentation, IPS, web, and application filtering), preferably FortiGate
- VPN technologies (IPSec and SSL VPN), preferably FortiGate
- Switching concepts (VLANs, trunking, port-channeling, STP), preferably Cisco
- SD-WAN experience preferred (Preferably FortiGate, Juniper SSR is a plus)
- Troubleshooting using network logs and packet captures (Wireshark)
Leadership And Soft Skills
- Experience mentoring or leading network engineers
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative mindset and ownership of outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in a Network Engineer Team Lead or senior network engineering role
- Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware and platforms (FortiGate, Cisco, Juniper)
- Exposure to ITSM, incident management, or compliance environments is a plus
