Job Title: Network Architect
Location: Alabang, Muntinlupa (Hybrid - 3x per week RTO)
Mode of Hiring: Contract (6 months Extendable)
Shift: Night shift
Job Description:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform new and current design assessment with the customer and business requirements into a network solution
- Design standard sets of LAN and WAN Models with High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD)
- Installation of the equipments with setup in coordination with the operator(s) and local teams
- Participate to all the required tests such as failover, validate internet breakout, functionality of existing network devices such as firewall and optimization tools
- Lead Network Fault and Incident Management as needed for Escalations of critical network outages and complex network issues
- Pro-active in ensuring stability, response time, operational consistency and life cycle over the network, while providing monthly reports on activity, quality and performance of this network
- Ensure appropriate documentation, including procedures and SOPs
- Handover to support team
Technical abilities:
Core Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 8 years of progressive, hands-on experience in enterprise and service provider network environments, focusing on:
- Routing & Switching
- Security Architecture
- System Integration
- Proven background in Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or Service Provider operations, with deep troubleshooting and
- escalation handling.
Industry Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) mandatory.
- Additional certifications in Palo Alto, F5, or SDWAN technologies are highly desirable.
Network Design & Administration
- Expertise in LAN/WAN architecture, including:
- MPLS, IPSec VPNs, GRE tunnels, and Hybrid WAN deployments.
- SDWAN solutions (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, or Versa).
- Strong experience in network hardware configuration:
- Cisco ISR/ASR, Catalyst, Nexus switches
- Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls
- F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM, ASM modules)
- Skilled in network protocol configuration and troubleshooting:
- Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP
- Switching protocols: STP, RSTP, MSTP
- Security protocols: IPSec, SSL, GRE
- Multicast & QoS: IGMP, PIM, DSCP, CoS, queuing mechanisms
Security & Optimization
- Firewall administration and policy design:
- Palo Alto Networks: App-ID, User-ID, Threat Prevention, GlobalProtect
- Juniper SSL VPN: Secure remote access and endpoint compliance
- Network security architecture:
- Implementation of Zero Trust, Segmentation, and Access Control
- Integration with SIEM, NAC, and IAM platforms
- WAN Optimization & Compression:
- Hands-on experience with Riverbed SteelHead or similar appliances
- Performance tuning for latency-sensitive applications
Advanced Technologies
- F5 Load Balancer:
- Configuration of LTM, GTM, SSL offloading, iRules, and traffic steering
SDWAN:
- Design and deployment of policy-based routing, application-aware traffic steering, and cloud on-ramp
- Voice over IP (VoIP) & Telephony over IP (ToIP):
- Understanding of SIP, H.323, QoS for voice, and integration with UC platforms (Cisco CUCM, Avaya, etc.)
Soft Skills & Collaboration
- Strong documentation and design skills using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
- Ability to lead technical workshops, vendor assessments, and architecture reviews.
- Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams including Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure.
