Network and System Engineer (AMK)

Job Summary

To ensure maximum uptime, security, and performance of customer IT infrastructure by managing the full lifecycle of networking hardware and server systems from design to troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Architect and configure LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks to meet customer requirements and optimize connectivity
• Install, maintain, and manage routers, L2/L3 switches, Fortinet firewalls, and load balancers to ensure reliable network hardware performance
• Manage VPN tunnels (Site-to-Site and Client-to-Site), VLAN segmentation, and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP to maintain secure and efficient network traffic flow
• Coordinate with ISPs to manage internet circuits and resolve external connectivity issues promptly
• Administer Windows Server (2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL) environments to maintain stable server operations
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, and DHCP services to support directory and network services
• Maintain virtual environments using VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V, including resource allocation and VM snapshot management
• Implement security best practices to harden servers and network devices against cyber threats
• Execute regular OS and firmware patch management to mitigate vulnerabilities
• Manage enterprise Antivirus/EDR solutions and email security gateways to protect endpoints
• Oversee daily backup processes to ensure data integrity and availability
• Use monitoring tools such as PRTG and SolarWinds to proactively track traffic patterns and system health
• Serve as escalation point for L2/L3 troubleshooting of complex technical issues beyond general IT support capabilities
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) documentation

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• CCNA/CCNP (Cisco), MCSA/MCSE (Microsoft), or VCP (VMware) certifications
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, and the OSI model
• Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS)
• Familiarity with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
• Analytical mindset with ability to work effectively under pressure during outages
• Clear communication skills for articulating technical issues and documenting changes and incidents
• Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience
