BASIC FUNCTION:
- Responsible for handling the data telecommunication lines provisioning activities. Coordinate with telecommunications service providers, business units, IT and other internal support units in evaluating, installing and testing the data telecommunication lines for live network.
- Handle the implementation of Service Improvement Program (SIP) for the data telecommunication liness that fail to meet the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Prepare, assess and recommend upgrades/downgrades based on the capacity planning derived from the data provided by Data Center Services (DCS).
- Perform first level fault detection, testing, diagnosis and error correction/restoration of new and upgraded data telecommunication lines prior to endorsement to Data Center Services for monitoring and support.
- Ensure the accurate and complete data telecommunication lines inventory.
- Handle assigned ITIO projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations and Projects (30 %)
- Update project status reports on a weekly basis or as needed.
- Handle provisioning problem management during and beyond regular working hours if needed.
Network Provisioning (60 %)
- Review and update guidelines and procedures related to data telecommunication line evaluation and provisioning.
- Prepare network design documentation as needed.
- Ensure that concerns and problems encountered are escalated to the team lead as appropriate.
- Ensure the timely resolution of issues and concerns relating to the data telecommunication line provisioning.
- Recommend risk mitigation steps to address issues that may impact data telecommunication line facilities.
- Review, analyze, and make recommendations on emerging Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies. Manage assigned projects.
- Participate in system planning and implementation to ensure successful and on-time data telecommunication line infrastructure installation/implementation.
- Prepare capacity planning report based on the provided data by Data Center Services.
- Analyze and provide recommendation based on the capacity planning report.
- Evaluate and recommend data telecommunication lines facility for branches, ATM units, POS systems, head office interconnections and other sites requiring data telecommunication lines connectivity.
- Assess, evaluate and implement SIP for the data telecommunication liness.
- Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) for new Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions if this will run with BDO standard systems and applications.
- Coordinate with the telecommunications service providers and other units of the bank for the testing and activation of data telecommunication lines.
- Handle data telecommunication line support within seven (7) days after installation (hyper-care period).
- Validate throughput and reliability of the newly-acquired data telecommunication lines.
- Ensure that assigned tickets are updated regularly and completed within SLS.
- Ensure that tested circuits are endorsed to DCS in a timely manner.
- Ensure that data telecommunication line changes (new, updated, deleted lines) are reflected in the network monitoring system (NMS) in a timely manner.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of data telecommunication line inventory.
Other Functions (10%)
- Participate actively in the review of policy, process and technical designs produced by and for his unit or ITIO.
- Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams or other business units.
- Perform other functions that maybe assigned from time-to-time.
JOB SPECIFICATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education : Bachelor degree, preferably BS Electronics and Communications Engineering or related course
- Experience : Work experience in network WAN/LAN support with a telecommunications company is a plus but not required.
- Technical Skills : Possesses the following technical skills Proficient in wired and wireless network technology With basic networking and troubleshooting skills. Cisco certification is preferred but not required.
- Behavioral Skills : Possesses the following behavioral skills Ability to work well with people, results oriented, customer focused, team player and self-starter Persistent in coordinating with groups involved
