The Freelancer Group operates three global platforms: Freelancer - the world's largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace by number of users and projects posted - Escrow.com, the world's leading online escrow payments platform, and Loadshift, Australia's largest freight exchange.
About The Role
We need someone who can make things move. You'll produce video and animation content for social media, earned media campaigns and internal projects across all three Freelancer Group brands. Speed matters as much as quality - most of what you produce will be tied to news cycles, campaign deadlines or social trends with a short shelf life.
Video is our preferred content format across social. We have a high quality bar: we don't accept potato-phone footage, we avoid stock where possible, and if source material isn't great, we expect you to apply filters, create animations or find a better way to tell the story visually. Existing Figma templates (created by our designer Pat) cover the Celebrate, Educate and Commentate content pillars - but Captivate content (the irreverent, trend-driven stuff) should be more free-form and creative.
You'll sit within the Communications team but also support the Head of Creative and broader Design team on product and marketing projects. When not working on video or animation briefs, you'll contribute to the Social CX function by responding to customer feedback across social platforms.
What You'll Do
- Produce short-form video and motion graphics content for social media (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn video) across Freelancer, Escrow.com and Loadshift
- Create animated explainers, data visualisations and infographic videos - particularly for Educate pillar content built from platform data
- Edit and assemble video content from raw footage, screen recordings and platform assets. Elevate low-quality source material through filters, animation overlays or original motion design
- Create content across all four content pillars (Celebrate, Educate, Commentate, Captivate), working closely with the Viral Media Specialist and Communications Officer
- Design static social media assets when required, using existing Figma templates where appropriate
- Support the Head of Creative and Design team on broader creative projects - including product marketing, landing pages and campaign collateral
- Maintain and develop motion templates and brand animation toolkits for each brand's distinct visual identity
- Perform Social CX duties as required, including responding to customer complaints, questions and feedback on social media platforms
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years experience as a motion designer, video editor or animator

- Understanding of social media video formats, aspect ratios and platform-specific best practices
- Ability to take a rough brief or set of talking points and turn them into a compelling visual narrative
- A quality-first mindset - you'd rather animate over bad footage than publish it, and you'd rather create original visuals than reach for stock
