Mid-Level Manual QA Engineer (with Automation Exposure)

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level QA Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in manual software testing and foundational exposure to automation using Selenium and .NET.
The ideal candidate will primarily focus on ensuring product quality through structured manual testing, while contributing to automation efforts and continuous QA improvements where applicable.

Must-Have Qualifications
• 3-5 years of proven experience in manual software testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in test case creation, execution, and defect tracking/reporting.
• Familiarity with automated testing using Selenium and .NET framework.
• Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman or SOAPUI.
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience testing database-driven applications.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes, including participation in ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, including test design techniques and QA methodologies.
• Basic understanding of different testing phases, including:
o Integration Testing
o System Testing
o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to automation scripting (writing or maintaining automated test cases).
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins) from a usage/support perspective.
• Experience in the Insurance domain (P&C, commercial, or specialty insurance).
• Experience with Guidewire or similar insurance platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with developers to identify automation opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test scenarios.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects and issues clearly and effectively.
• Validate API endpoints and data flows, including database validation where needed.
• Support and contribute to automation efforts (e.g., executing tests, minor script updates in Selenium/.NET).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product, DevOps) to ensure high-quality releases.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
