About The Role
The
Merchandise Planner is primarily responsible for the budgeting, forecasting, analysis and review of product key performance indicators across the business. This is achieved with special emphasis on Customer store level sales and stock analysis through weekly allocations and adjustment of store replenishment methodologies to meet Customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Create product allocations weekly based on Customer OTB requirements and internal warehouse constraints; Follow the allocations through to success, resolving issues with Customers where needed.
- Accurately forecast Customer sales by store and replenish as needed to meet optimal in-stock position and maximize Customer sales result.
- Manage Customer Open-to-Buy.
- Develop and implement warehouse inventory purchasing plans, consistently adjusting for forecast changes and ensuring optimal balance of warehouse stocks to meet future Customer needs.
- Consistently review product sales and stock performance, recommending actions to capitalize on opportunities.
- Achieve critical financial targets including sales, stock turn, sell thru and margin.
- Place special emphasis on the analysis of aged inventories, recommending financially viable solutions to ensure the health of inventory holdings.
- Communicate effectively with the Customer on a regular basis to create and foster a solid business relationship.
- Ownership of product maintenance and data accuracy.
Key Performance
- Customer store in-stock position meets company targets.
- Customer open to buy is consistently within budget.
- Aged stock is consistently addressed and cleared without significant financial impact to the company.
- Critical financial targets, including sales, stock turn, sell thru and margin, are consistently met.
Competencies And Qualifications
Must-Have
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Merchandise and/or Replenishment Planning in a Retail or Wholesale environment.
- Strong financial and numerical acumen
- Prior experience with end-to-end supply chain logistics
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel & Access
- Initiative to recognize or identify potential problems or challenges early and resolution skills to implement solutions accordingly
- Agile, autonomous and a team player!
Technical Requirements
- Computer with a minimum of 16GB RAM
- Preferably Windows OS, Intel Core i5 processor (or equivalent) and above.
- Headset (preferable noise canceling microphone)
- Fast/Stable and Reliable Internet Connection (At least 30 Mbps)
- Having an external monitor is a plus
- Webcam
