Role Overview
A leading U.S.-based personal injury law firm is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to support its growing operations team. This role is ideal for professionals with 1–2 years of experience and a background in healthcare or medical-related fields, who are looking to work in a fast-paced legal environment.
Skills:
- 1–2 years of experience in medical records within a US law firm (this is must)
- Background in medical or healthcare environments strongly preferred
- Experience requesting records from U.S.-based providers or medical portals is a strong plus
- Familiarity with case management systems (Litify, Filevine, Needles, SmartAdvocate, Salesforce-based tools) is highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Key Responsibilities
- Request medical records, bills, imaging, and related documentation from hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers
- Follow up consistently with providers to ensure timely receipt of records and minimize case delays
- Track the status of all requests and maintain accurate updates in the case management system
- Upload, organize, and properly label all documentation in internal systems
- Review records for completeness, accuracy, and relevance to each case
- Identify missing documents, provider gaps, or discrepancies and escalate as needed
- Communicate effectively with legal, pre-litigation, and operations teams regarding case status
- Maintain detailed notes and documentation trails for all assigned cases
- Handle sensitive medical and legal information with strict adherence to confidentiality standards
- Support additional administrative and records-related tasks as required
