Medical Coding Assistant Manager

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Supervision & Support:

• Assist in managing and mentoring coding staff, including training and performance feedback.
• Help coordinate workload distribution and resolve operational issues.

Operational Management:

• Monitor coding productivity and accuracy to meet organizational goals.
• Ensure timely completion of coding for all assigned cases (inpatient, outpatient, specialty).

Compliance & Quality:

• Support audits and quality checks to ensure adherence to ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and payer guidelines.
• Assist in implementing corrective actions for identified errors or compliance issues.

Collaboration:

• Work with billing, CDI, and other revenue cycle teams to reduce denials and optimize reimbursement.
• Act as a point of escalation for coding-related queries.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare and review reports on productivity, accuracy, and compliance metrics.
• Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.
