Job Description

Do you enjoy bringing order to complex billing workflows and making sure nothing slips through the cracks Want a role where your accuracy, consistency, and communication directly impact patient experience and revenue flow You'll have the flexibility to work remotely, support a growing healthcare service, and play a key role in ensuring claims are processed smoothly and on time. If you're detail-oriented, reliable, and thrive in a fast-paced, task-driven environment, this could be a strong fit.

Our Story Starts with People Like You

The two founders, best friends, were running businesses that needed great talent fast. So, they started building remote teams across countries like the Philippines, Colombia, and India. Not only did it work, it thrived. They realized that talent isn't limited by geography. With today's technology and high-speed internet, we're able to build high-performing global teams that support businesses across the U.S. So ClearDesk was born.

Today, ClearDesk helps U.S. businesses grow by building world-class remote teams. We don't just connect talent; we manage the entire experience, from recruiting to retention. And while we help clients thrive, we also stay deeply committed to helping our remote team members build real, lasting careers that support their lives and their families.

That's where you come in.

The Role: Medical Billing Specialist

Imagine being the person who ensures every claim is accurate, submitted on time, and followed through until resolution. You're not just processing claims, you're protecting revenue, supporting patients, and keeping the entire billing cycle running smoothly.

When new claims come in, you're ready. When something gets denied, you investigate. When patterns emerge, you notice and raise them. You bring consistency and precision to a process that depends on both speed and accuracy.

You don't just complete tasks, you build reliable systems. Behind every claim is a patient, often a new parent navigating care, and a provider who depends on timely reimbursement. Your work ensures both sides are supported.

What Your Days Might Look Like:

  • Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims daily with high accuracy, starting with a steady volume and increasing over time
  • Ensure all claims received within the last 24 hours are processed and submitted the same day
  • Verify patient eligibility and insurance coverage using clearinghouse platforms before submission
  • Add newborns to insurance plans and confirm activation and eligibility status
  • Monitor claims for rejections, denials, or delays and take immediate corrective action
  • Investigate recurring billing issues and flag patterns or inconsistencies to leadership
  • Communicate with insurance companies via phone to resolve claim issues and clarify coverage
  • Respond to patient billing inquiries clearly and professionally, especially from new parents
  • Record payments accurately and assist with collections workflows when needed
  • Maintain accurate records within CRM and billing systems
  • Follow structured daily workflows to ensure zero backlog
  • Handle higher claim volumes during peak periods (Mondays, end-of-month) without compromising quality
  • Identify workflow gaps and suggest improvements to increase efficiency

Who We Think Will Thrive in This Role:

  • You have hands-on experience in medical billing, including claim submission and follow-ups
  • You have strong attention to detail and can catch inconsistencies across similar claims
  • You communicate clearly and confidently when speaking with insurance companies and patients
  • You are reliable and consistent in completing time-sensitive tasks every day
  • You are organized and comfortable managing high-volume, repetitive workflows
  • You take ownership of your work and follow through until resolution
  • You're comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • You are willing to work in a US time zone schedule.
  • You can secure the required technical setup, including:
  • At least a 720p HD webcam
  • A noise-canceling headset
  • A primary internet connection of at least 25 Mbps
  • A backup laptop, backup internet device, and backup power source
  • A main computer with at least Intel Core i5 (or equivalent) and 8 GB RAM
  • A backup computer with at least Intel Core i3 and 4 GB RAM
