We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Physical Therapy team. The ideal candidate will provide both clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers while ensuring a positive patient experience. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Assist physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers during patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, medical instruments, and equipment for orthopedic, sports medicine, and physical therapy services.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and relevant clinical information.
- Accurately record and update patient information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Educate patients on post-procedure care, rehabilitation plans, therapy exercises, and treatment instructions.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure clinical areas remain clean, safe, and organized.
Administrative Support
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
- Manage incoming and outgoing phone communications using RingCentral or similar communication platforms.
- Assist with patient registration, documentation, and insurance-related administrative tasks.
- Support daily clinic operations by coordinating with providers, staff, and patients to maintain efficient workflows.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of clinical and administrative documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, or a related specialty practice.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, RingCentral, and other healthcare communication and scheduling platforms.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional patient care and customer service.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Experience supporting orthopedic procedures, sports injury treatments, and rehabilitation programs.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to musculoskeletal conditions and physical therapy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate patient records.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a high-volume clinical environment.
