Core Mission:
Provide medical oversight for all medical affairs activities in Galderma Philippines across all business units: Dermatological Skincare (DS), Therapeutic Dermatology (TD), and Injectable Aesthetics (IA).
This role will develop a strategy that is differentiated and competitive; and ensure quality deliverables of high standards to establish credibility and confidence in our products and services; thereby enhancing the scientific image of our company.
This role will demonstrate the value of medical affairs by meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders; that can enhance the reputation of our company to attract the best talents for a high-performance team. This role will also ensure that medical activities are conducted in a compliant and ethical fashion to build trust among our customers and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Member of Galderma Philippines Leadership Team
- Responsible for leadership and general management of all medical affairs activities.
- Responsible for managing the strategic direction, planning, execution and interpretation of Phase I/II/III and IV clinical trials/research and IIT. Post marketing safety studies (PMS) can be managed by local safety officer.
- Responsible for leading the partnership with KOLs, congresses and medical societies
- Responsible for medical education, information, and training including agenda development, KOL and speaker management
- Support medical compliance function
Specific duties and responsibilities:
Strategic Medical Affairs Support:
- Participation in local operational meetings and brand plans to provide medical oversight
-Lead and develop country medical strategy, plans, and actively engage with the regional/global medical functions to ensure that country level priorities and needs.
-Partner with country commercial team to develop medical plans to ensure continued success and competitive leadership of Galderma products.
- Medical education plan for HCPs
- Develop and implement competitive and differentiated medical affairs plans and strategies for products within each BU
- Maintain and monitor the medical plan, reporting and budget expenditures
Promotional and non-promotional materials:
- Manage the integrity and accuracy of scientific and medical data communication both internally and externally for promotional and non-promotional purposes
- Reviews and approves medical, promotional, market access and other information materials for country consumption
- Contributes to claims development strategies and implementations for new and marketed products
Data Generation and Publication:
- Responsible for the local clinical evidence generation strategy and communication plans
- Manage investigator- initiated studies (IIT) and support facilitation of IIT and other local clinical trials (e.g. Phase III & Phase IV).
- Communicate actively with internal and external stakeholders on current and new medical scientific data
Internal and External Stakeholder Management:
- Lead KOL advocacy, development and management plan
- Present CME to HCPs at key congresses and events
- Attendance at both internal and external industry educational events
- Management of advisory boards, scientific round tables and engagements
- Lead and organize scientific engagements and medical education and professional development of experts (e.g. advisory boards, medical symposiums)
- Provide medical and scientific expertise to support product launches, key scientific meeting, relationship management with leading research physicians and critical evaluation of current literature
Internal Competencies and Training:
- Develop training materials and delivers disease and product training to commercial and sales partners
- Act as speaker for the disease area and scientific knowledge of Galderma portfolio
- Preparing and execution of product and disease training for all business units
- People Management:
- Manage CME Associate from interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Contribute to a work environment that fosters professionalism, mutual respect, teamwork, and collaboration with cross-functional team.
Requirements:
Education/Training/
- Doctor of Medicine. Board-certified Dermatologist.
Work Experience:
- 10+ years experience in pharmaceutical industry and 5-7 years experience in medical affairs including department budget and resources management.
- Proven direct line management capabilities and staff coaching skills.
- Proven leadership and ability to develop and motivate team members.
- Proven track record of working across departments and/or business units.
- Analytical skills Ability to analyze data and evaluate scientific rigor and able to review and extract relevant information.
- A knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry including roles & responsibilities of other departments such as Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Compliance, Legal as well as the ability to recognize the need when to consult with these Departments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written communication, collaboration, problem solving, negotiation, planning, organizing, and process improvement)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure so that the work can be completed within required time frame, while maintaining a productive work environment.
- Time management skills to be able to meet workload commitments as well as providing value add services to other departments.
