Your impact
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading mechanical design and coordination efforts for electronics-related projects, ensuring high-quality delivery that meets client expectations and recognized industrial standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a dedicated local electronics team, including oversight of future team expansion.
- Take ownership of specific design scopes and packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Design electronics industry process exhausts and general building HVAC systems, process cooling, and heating water systems in accordance with client specifications and applicable standards.
- Perform QA/QC of 2D drawings and 3D models, prepare model markups, and manage the QC workflow.
- Experience in mechanical equipment (including AHUs, pumps, fans, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, scrubbers, VOCs abatement units) and develop performance-based specification datasheets.
- Review submittals to ensure contractor orders align with design intent and project specifications
- Participate in client workgroup meetings and address design review comments in a timely and professional manner.
- Propose innovative design approaches and technical solutions to meet project requirements.
Additional Responsibilities (in Collaboration With Global Leadership)
- Manage staff planning and resourcing to ensure appropriate skills and experience are allocated to project needs.
- Coordinate with project leads on workload adjustments throughout project phases.
- Collaborate with global discipline managers on medium- and long-term staff planning to meet forecasted project requirements.
- Manage the design change control process effectively, demonstrating a proactive and positive approach toward project changes and continuous improvements.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in mechanical design leadership within the electronics sector or industrial building services. Experience with cleanroom design concepts is valued.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles and relevant standards.
- Proficiency in QA/QC processes and coordination of multi-disciplinary design models.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client engagement skills.
Preferred Software Skills
- Autodesk Navisworks and AutoCAD
- Hourly Analysis Program or similar heat load calculation tool.
- Pipe-Flo or similar pressure loss calculation tool.
- Basic familiarity with Autodesk Revit is considered an asset
