Job Overview
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for educating and mentoring colleagues in a dynamic engineering environment. This role combines technical expertise with a strong focus on knowledge sharing, training, and promoting best practices within the entire organization. As Mechanical Engineer with an education focus, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring that employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and conduct training sessions on automotive principles, tools, and technologies. This includes creating training materials, manuals, and presentations tailored to different experience levels.
Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching to sales and other departments to help them grow in their technical knowledge. Offer guidance on technical challenges, career development, and problem-solving approaches.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by organizing knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and peer-to-peer learning groups. Ensure that the team stays updated on the latest industry trends, codes, and standards.
Develop clear, concise, and accessible documentation that explains complex automotive concepts. Ensure all resources are regularly updated to reflect the latest trends and methods.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, and ensure that knowledge is being shared effectively and that technical skills are aligned with company objectives.
- Problem Solving & Technical Support:
Provide expert advice and troubleshooting support for automotive practice and challenges. Help the team resolve complex issues through hands-on guidance and collaborative problem-solving.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance technical proficiency, efficiency, and productivity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 1-2 years focused on training, mentoring, or educating others in an engineering environment.
Technical Skills
- Engine repair and troubleshooting
- Transmission service (manual & automatic)
- Brake system repair (including ABS)
- Suspension and steering repair
- Electrical and wiring works
- Fuel system and emission control
- Exhaust system maintenance
- Identifying and cross-checking auto parts
- Technical knowledge for sales and customer support
- Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Teaching & Mentoring Experience:
Previous experience in a teaching, coaching, or mentoring role is highly preferred.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approach to challenges.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
Ability to lead training initiatives, work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, and foster a positive learning environment.
