About the Role
We're looking for a highly skilled SolidWorks Mechanical Designer to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems and components for various gas applications. This is a 100% remote role where you will contribute to complex mechanical engineering solutions, collaborate with project managers, and ensure that designs meet functionality and performance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create parts, assemblies, design tables, and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Apply sheet metal industry codes and standards relevant to mechanical engineering practices.
- Contribute innovative solutions to complex mechanical design challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers to establish project schedules and milestones.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Conduct system design and analysis to ensure functionality and performance meet project requirements.
Competencies and Qualifications
Must-Have
- 23 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry with mechanical design.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, focusing on sheet metal components, weldments, and related features.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with advanced sheet metal design and complex weldments.
- Knowledge of mechanical stress analysis or FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
- Familiarity with industry-specific codes and standards beyond basic sheet metal practices.
- Exposure to design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly processes.
- Experience collaborating with international clients or multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Basic programming or automation experience in SolidWorks (macros, configurations).
