Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing and engineering custom mechanical solutions for entertainment, museum, or themed environments. The role includes creating technical drawings, collaborating with manufacturing teams, validating designs, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Job Description

• Design and engineer mechanical solutions for custom entertainment and industrial applications.

• Meet with clients and design teams to understand project requirements.

• Create 2D sketches and preliminary drawings to communicate concepts.

• Consult engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility.

• Collaborate with design department to ensure original design intent is executed.

• Create 3D models in CAD / SolidWorks (preferred).

• Perform calculations and analyses to validate designs.

• Develop comprehensive drawing packages for final designs.

• Provide project managers with materials and cost estimates for fabrication.

• Recommend fabrication workflow for in-house vs. outsourced production.

• Assist with vendor identification and relationship management.

• Continuously research new technologies and methods to inform project designs.

Required Qualifications

• Proven ability to meet tight timelines in fast-paced entertainment projects and long-lead themed/museum installations.

• Demonstrates strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative design skills.

• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

• Sound knowledge of mechanical design principles, high level of attention to detail, analytical and ability to creative problem solve.

• Proven ability to create designs into practical real-world engineered solutions.

• Demonstrates strong work ethic and team-based mentality.

• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.

Screening Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mechanical or industrial design engineering.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Apple Keynote.

• Must have stable employment history.
