Job Description
As a Master Data Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of item master data across enterprise systems. Your work will support healthcare supply chain operations through disciplined data governance, validation, and cross-functional collaboration-ensuring clean, reliable data that enables informed decisions and uninterrupted care delivery.

The Qualifications We Seek
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Healthcare Analytics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Master Data Management, including item lifecycle management, data governance, or ERP master data maintenance
- Proven experience supporting healthcare procurement, supply chain, or clinical data environments
- Familiarity with U.S. healthcare systems, vendors, and data standards is highly preferred
- Willingness and ability to work onsite full-time as required
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and Power Query
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle
- Working knowledge of Power BI and SharePoint for data tracking, reporting, and documentation

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and explain complex data clearly
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with sound judgment on when to escalate or seek support
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation and multiple priorities effectively
Your Daily Tasks
Item Master Maintenance & Data Quality
- Create and maintain item master records, including names, descriptions, manufacturers, UOMs, pricing, and supplier identifiers using Workday and Data Connect tools.
- Ensure consistency and completeness of fields across platforms.
- Enforce compliance with MUSC naming conventions and classification standards.
Data Validation & Reconciliation
- Normalize manufacturer and supplier part numbers.
- Remove duplicate entries and validate UOMs.
- Audit data fields to ensure consistency and traceability across systems.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to clarify and resolve discrepancies in pricing, descriptions, or classifications.
New Item Creation & Lifecycle Updates
- Process new item requests with complete and accurate inputs, including EPIC tags, sourcing priority, contract references, and regulatory identifiers.
- Maintain detailed logs for all item additions and modifications.
- Ensure auditability and uphold data hygiene standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with sourcing, contracts, and analytics teams to ensure data aligns with procurement and reporting needs.
- Recommend and support enhancements to item lifecycle workflows and data governance processes.
