Job Summary
The Market Planning Analyst is responsible for enhancing industry understanding and analyzing the current automotive market to support strategic decision-making. The role involves conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, monitoring competitor activities, and providing actionable insights to strengthen the brand's market positioning. This position ensures that all market data, competitive intelligence, and consumer insights are effectively translated into strategies for sales growth, product development, and brand competitiveness.
Key Responsibilties
Market & Industry Analysis
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of industry trends, regulatory developments, and economic factors affecting the automotive sector.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative research to assess cpnsumer behavior, market shifts, and emerging opportunities.
- Prepare detailed market forecasts and scenario analyses to guide stratgic planning.
Monthly Market/Competitor Analysis Report
- Attend and participate in Monthly CAMPI (MARCOM) meetings to gather official industry sales and market share data.
- Track and analyze competitor product launches, pricing adjustments, promotional activities, and dealer strategies.
- Develop Industry Sales Reports to measure brand performance against competitors.
- Conduct mystery shopping to evaluate competitor sales processes, service levels, and showroom experiences.
Market Research Initiatives
- Lead special research projects in support of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) directives.
- Administer Dealer Brand/Model Surveys in coordination with Dealer Development Department and Sales & Distribution Department to assess brand competitiveness and dealer satisfaction.
- Conduct Early Buyer/Rejecter Studies to identify purchase motivators and reasons for lost sales, providing recommendations to improve conversion rates.
Strategic Decision Support
- Provide market insights to support product planning for new models, variant introductions, and pricing strategies.
- Work with marketing teams to optimize targeting, messaging, and campaign performance measurement.
- Assist sales teams with market penetration strategies, territory prioritization, and dealer performance improvement.
- Support after-sales with insights on customer satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in market research, data analysis, or strategic planning (automotive industry preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication skills for preparing and presenting reports to management.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry, market trends, and consumer behavior is a strong advantage.
