Job Description

This is a remote position.

Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Marketing Assistant on behalf of our client, a founder-led essential oils company based in Washington State. This role supports marketing execution across social media, YouTube, podcasts, blog/SEO, affiliate outreach, and customer engagementhelping a fast-moving team stay organized, consistent, and growth-focused.

Responsibilities

  • YouTube support: coordinate video workflow (tracking creation, coordinating edits, uploading, titles/tags, thumbnails, basic optimization, and analytics). (Video editing is a plus.)

  • Podcast support: outreach, follow-up tracking, transcript coordination, and supporting assets.

  • Blog + SEO: maintain WordPress blog content (light edits onlyno coding), create/maintain tags & categories, and optimize posts using Yoast (metadata, structure, on-page basics).

  • Influencer + affiliate management: recruit, onboard, communicate with, and follow up with affiliates/micro-influencers; maintain tracking and next steps.

  • Outreach + partnerships: research and support outreach for speaking opportunities/podcast guesting; support Friday Favorites product/company research and outreach.

  • Content + distribution: create simple marketing assets in Canva (thumbnails, PDFs, social graphics), post blogs to LinkedIn, and assist with cross-channel distribution.

  • Community management: support Facebook Group moderation (approve members, respond to questions, maintain a welcoming tone).

  • Marketing ops + reporting: maintain a testimonials database, track performance metrics, compile insights, and support research/analysis to improve marketing outcomes.

  • Light admin support: calendar support for the founder, ordering supplies/postcards, and basic affiliate payment support as needed.



Requirements

  • Experience supporting marketing execution for a small business/creator brand/wellness or e-commerce company.

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills (warm, professional brand voice).

  • Highly organized and process-driven; able to manage priorities and follow-ups without micromanagement.

  • Comfortable with spreadsheets, data entry, reporting, and basic KPI tracking.

  • Tech-confident and able to learn systems quickly (e.g., affiliate platforms, email/SMS tools, Shopify/cart tools, fulfillment/shipping software).

  • Tools you'll use (experience preferred; willingness to learn welcomed): Google Workspace, Canva, WordPress + Yoast, Facebook Groups/Instagram, HelpScout, Klaviyo, Basecamp, Slack, Frame.io plus affiliate tools (e.g., iDev/GoAffPro).
