Your Job

As the MIE Manager at the Molex PHL plant, your primary responsibility is to continuously improve manufacturing process engineering capabilities and work closely with the Design Center to develop new products. You will lead efforts to develop and implement new processes and technologies or make major changes to existing ones, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle.

Our Team

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including design centers, equipment vendors, internal engineers, management up to director level, and occasionally customers and external vendors regarding technical issues.

What You Will Do

  • Continuously improve process engineering capabilities and collaborate closely with the design center to develop new products.
  • Develop and implement new processes/technology or major changes to existing processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation associated with assigned manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and solve processing issues for ongoing production and new product introductions.
  • Participate in DFA/DFM activities and provide manufacturing plant feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies.
  • Share knowledge across Molex DG, PHL, and GDL plants.
  • Develop manufacturing strategies aligned with company vision and product pipelines.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors during design, development, testing, and qualification, including FAT and SAT runs.
  • Participate in equipment design reviews and solicit plant feedback for robust machine designs.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space, and equipment layout.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information through cost calculation and production scheduling.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or a minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in mechanical or electronics manufacturing industries.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing process design, tooling design, and automation design.
  • Strong knowledge of various manufacturing assembly processes including assembly, soldering, dispensing, crimping, and welding.
  • Experience working with machine builders to design, build, and deploy manual and automated equipment.
  • Ability to understand and address customer technical needs and specifications, especially in advanced automotive architecture.
  • Good understanding of assembly concepts, mechanical aspects of automated equipment, fixturing, and tooling.
  • Excellent management and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams at varying levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including potential international travel.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in process development and automation development.
  • Familiarity with database development, SPC software, and design of experiments.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
