Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the assigned processes of Faraday and/or in the future Industrial Laser, train and develop team members (technical expertise), process knowledge and improvement, specs documentation), conduct periodic performance reviews, mentorship and guidance.
  • Leads continuous process improvement in terms of yield, efficient and lean process flows.
  • Executes product transfers timely and smoothly.
  • Resolves or drives resolution of operational issues timely to sustain customer demands.
  • Establish, review, improves specifications or documents to sustain continuous improvement of operations.
  • Develops and deploy training or certification of operators, technicians and engineers.
  • Supports top management priorities required by top management to sustain operational demands.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related discipline, preferably with Master's Degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Semiconductor or Electronics/Opto-electronics and Fiber Optics Industry. Experience on start-up manufacturing and related New Product Introduction activities such as PFMEA, process characterization reviews, equipment design review, risk assessment, etc. Good product and equipment understanding on target process to support.

Skills

  • Capable of leading team (engineers, technicians, etc.), mentoring, developing people to become independent, and technically or maturely handle responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge on process engineering (equipment hands-on, SPC, FMEA and other tools).
  • Good knowledge on equipment Introduction and transfer qualification process.
  • Experience in new product introduction - product and technology transfer and deployment. Considering manufacturability readiness scorecards such as process capabilities, controlled process variations, yield, UPH, OEE, operator training and certification, SOP, metrology readiness-MSA, etc. Defines yield roadmap and drive the fulfillment during ramp-up and high volume production.
  • Able to interpret product design and specification then develop robust processes to achieve these requirements. Considering productivity, product quality, and product reliability
  • With knowledge on statistical methodologies and tools. Working knowledge of SAS JMP or Minitab is a strong plus.
  • Experience in components of variation study and analysis. Able to identify process variation components and formulating proper statistical sampling to assess process capability performance covering all process variations.
  • With DFM/A methodology knowledge. Experience using Design for Manufacturability and Assembly and Test methodologies for ease of manufacture and assembly processing of the parts that will form the product.
  • With vision on product cost roadmap and cost reduction activities through alternative material qualifications and process improvements.
  • Adept in business processes like Engineering Change Reviews and Orders, Temporary Deviations, Process Qualification Reviews, and other related business processes that is relevant to current Coherent manufacturing operations. Be able to perform these processes in accordance to Coherent work systems and standards.
  • With knowledge of basic product reliability principles. Experience on reliability testing and would be able to Identify proper reliability requirements for a specific product's qualification needs.
  • Able to interpret materials safety data sheets to create or form proper safety practices in each process. Keen to operations safety details considering health and safety of individuals as top priority in all actions.
