About the Role:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and motivated Manual QA Engineer to join our Agile team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual testing, a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, and experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and performance of our insurance products through comprehensive manual testing.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing for web and mobile applications.
- Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and appropriate severity levels.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of defects.
Agile Collaboration:
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Provide feedback on requirements, test coverage, and potential risks.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to ensure alignment and quality delivery.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date test documentation including test cases, test execution reports, and defect logs.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress, risks, and blockers.
- Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases.
Quality Assurance Process:
- Ensure adherence to QA standards, processes, and best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA methodologies and workflows.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production validation as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 24 years of experience in manual testing, preferably in an Agile environment.
- Experience working with offshore teams is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, or TestRail.
- Hands-on experience in web and mobile application testing.
- Basic knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and commitment to continuous learning.
