Job Description
As a Manager, Nursing Workforce Optimization Scheduling, you will oversee centralized scheduling operations and workforce optimization initiatives while leading a team responsible for staffing support, operational performance, and continuous improvement activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and oversight for centralized scheduling and workforce optimization operations
- Manage resource optimization teams, scheduling experts, and operational support staff
- Establish operational goals, service standards, and performance expectations aligned with business objectives
- Monitor daily workforce operations to ensure productivity, quality, and service excellence
- Develop and implement workforce optimization strategies to maximize staffing efficiency and labor utilization
- Oversee staffing allocation processes, scheduling workflows, capacity planning, and resource balancing activities
- Partner with operational leaders to support workforce forecasting and staffing models
- Analyze workforce metrics, operational trends, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities
- Establish, monitor, and manage KPIs, SLAs, and operational benchmarks
- Review reporting and analytics to assess productivity, service quality, and resource utilization
- Present operational updates, workforce insights, and recommendations to leadership stakeholders
- Lead process improvement, standardization, and operational transformation initiatives
- Support implementation and optimization of workforce management technologies and scheduling systems
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, HR, finance, and administrative stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with workforce management standards, policies, and operational procedures
- Oversee quality assurance activities, audits, risk mitigation efforts, and escalation management
- Develop operational documentation, workflows, and reporting standards
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement across workforce management functions
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Management, or a related discipline (non-negotiable)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in workforce management, staffing operations, scheduling operations, healthcare operations, BPO, GBS, or shared services environments
- Minimum 7 years of leadership or people management experience overseeing operational teams
- Strong experience in workforce planning, staffing optimization, scheduling operations, and resource management
- Proven ability to manage operational performance through KPIs, SLAs, and service metrics
- Experience leading process improvement, standardization, and transformation initiatives
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional relationships across local and global teams
- Experience with workforce management systems and scheduling technologies
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification
- UKG Certification
- Experience in a healthcare environment supporting hospital operations
- Background in workforce planning methodologies, labor optimization, and operational forecasting
- Experience with staffing technologies and workforce management platforms
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with EPIC, ConnectCare, OpTime, or similar healthcare systems
