We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in mainframe technologies and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance mainframe-based applications in alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Lead the development, testing, and implementation of application modules and system enhancements.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code following established development standards, coding guidelines, and business rules.
- Perform and oversee unit testing, ensuring that developed components meet functional and technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to application functionality and performance.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including version history and development notes.
- Collaborate with project teams, business stakeholders, and other developers to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in application development, preferably within a mainframe environment.
- Strong experience with Mainframe technologies such as COBOL, and familiarity with other programming environments such as Java or similar technologies is an advantage.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and test application components in a structured development environment.
- Strong understanding of development standards, coding practices, and enterprise system requirements.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
