Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate pre-polishing and final polishing machines for silicon optics.
- Inspect parts for surface quality and adherence to specifications.
- Set up and handle polishing tools, fixtures, and materials.
- Record production data and report defects or machine issues.
- Maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and support process improvements.
Education & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining, optics, or related field is a plus.
- Experience: 13 years in machine operation, preferably in polishing or handling precision optical components.
- Familiarity with polishing tools, fixtures, and quality inspection procedures is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and production documentation.
Skills
- Knowledge of pre-polishing and final polishing processes
- Ability to operate and set up polishing machines and fixtures
- Strong attention to detail and surface defect detection
- Basic measurement and inspection skills
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures
- Teamwork and time management skills
Working Conditions
- This role is 100% onsite and performed in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Requires standing for extended periods and handling precision optical components.
- May involve exposure to polishing compounds, chemicals, and machine noise.
- Must follow strict safety, cleanliness, and contamination control procedures.
