Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate lapping and grinding machines according to process specifications.
- Set up parts & fixtures correctly
- Monitor thickness, flatness, and surface quality during processing
- Perform in-process and final inspections using measuring tools.
- Handle silicon/optical parts carefully to prevent damage or contamination
- Maintain machine cleanliness and follow safety and quality procedures
- Record process data and report any abnormalities
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in manufacturing, machining, engineering technology, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of machine operation and use of measuring tools
Skills
- Basic machine operation and willingness to learn lapping/grinding processes
- Ability to follow work instructions, SOPs, and safety rules
- Basic understanding of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges)
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Careful handling of fragile silicon or optical parts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise and fine particles
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection, mask)
- Involves standing for long periods and repetitive hand movements
- Requires handling of small, delicate silicon or optical components
- May involve shift work and occasional Sunday work depending on shipment demand.
