We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to manage our coal and freight contracts. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our coal shipment operations, ensuring minimal logistics disruptions, avoiding costly delivery delays or demurrage, and keeping our plant inventory levels healthy.
You will handle high-volume operations, managing coal shipments, alongside scheduling oil deliveries and processing materials like ADO, LO, Limestone, and Sand. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders like vessel masters, brokers, and government bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipment Management: Manage the vessel nomination process, coordinate with suppliers for shipping documents (Proforma Invoice, Form D, Certificate of Analysis), and oversee the smooth entry and discharging of shipments.
- Financial & Administrative Tasks: Review freight and coal cost computations, settle VAT payments with customs brokers, prepare Purchase Orders (POs), and initiate Requests for Payment (RFPs) related to importations.
- Dispute & Claims Resolution: Compute laytime incurred, handle demurrage and despatch claims, and resolve any disputes regarding coal quality or vessel performance.
- Inventory Replenishment: Schedule Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) deliveries to keep plant inventory above reorder points (ROP) and below maximum safe capacities, and process POs for essential plant materials.
- Stakeholder & Contract Management: Act as the primary Contract Holder for assigned service providers, conduct quarterly safety meetings, and engage with regulatory bodies (BOC, PPA, CPA) to ensure the timely renewal of permits, registrations, and surety bonds.
What We Are Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or any related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in logistics, coal plant operations, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong coordination and analytical skills. Prior leadership experience or specific professional licenses are not required.
