Business Development: Proactively identify, acquire, and manage SME clients with financing needs to grow the loan portfolio.
Portfolio Transfer: Bring an existing network of clients and relationships, with the ability to transfer part or all of a performing SME loan portfolio to our institution.
Loan Origination: Assess loan applications, perform due diligence, prepare credit proposals, and ensure timely approval and disbursement of loans.
Relationship Management: Maintain and deepen client relationships by offering tailored financial solutions and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Credit Quality: Conduct thorough credit assessments to ensure loan quality and minimize delinquencies.
Target Achievement: Meet or exceed agreed business targets in terms of loan volume, yield, and portfolio quality.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (credit, risk, operations) to ensure smooth loan processing and client onboarding.
Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the SME sector.
Duties And Responsibilities
Conduct field visits to clients businesses for evaluation and monitoring.
Structure loan products based on business cash flows and financing capacity.
Monitor repayment behavior and proactively manage early warning signals to reduce NPLs.
Prepare comprehensive credit appraisal reports for submission to the credit committee.
Cross-sell other financial products relevant to SME clients.
Support collection efforts where necessary and ensure timely loan renewals.
Maintain accurate and updated client records in the loan management system.
Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance loan products and improve internal processes.
Participate in training and development sessions to stay updated with best practices and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
College graduate preferably in the field of commerce, finance, management, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of leadership experience in SME Lending with a proven and transferable portfolio.
Strong credit analysis, risk assessment, and financial structuring skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
Strong network in the SME sector and an understanding of local business dynamics.
With a strong resolve to deliver the target; creativity and problem-solving skills; works with a high degree of integrity.
