Job Description

As part of M Moser's growing lighting design team, this is a critical role in delivering human-centered, high performance lighting solutions for world-class workplace and commercial environments. You'll help translate project concepts and narratives into responsive lighting strategies that elevate user wellbeing, functionality, and design expression.

Working closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, and consultants, you will contribute across all project stages from early concept and visualisation through to detailed documentation and on-site execution. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented designer who blends creativity with technical rigour and thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary AEC team committed to sustainability, innovation, and the seamless integration of lighting into architectural experience.

Responsibilities

Design Development & Conceptualisation

  • Collaborate with design teams to develop lighting strategies that enhance spatial quality, mood, and storytelling
  • Translate project briefs into concept sketches, mood boards, and narrative presentations
  • Participate in early-stage design workshops and idea generation sessions with architects and clients

Technical Documentation & Visualisation

  • Create lighting layouts, circuiting plans, and fixture schedules using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Conduct lighting calculations and simulations using AGi32, DIALux, or similar tools
  • Develop renderings and visual mockups in Enscape or Lumion to support design presentations
  • Produce documentation packages aligned with local codes, sustainability goals, and design intent

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Integrate lighting strategies into broader architectural, MEP, and branding frameworks
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless implementation
  • Participate in site visits, mock-ups, aiming sessions, and adjustments during construction phases

Innovation & Sustainability

  • Explore new technologies, materials, and lighting controls to enhance energy efficiency and user experience
  • Support daylight integration strategies and human-centric lighting goals
  • Contribute to M Moser's regenerative design ethos through performance-informed lighting solutions

Project & Process Support

  • Assist with internal documentation, design reviews, and QA/QC checks
  • Support procurement and technical evaluations of lighting products
  • Work across multiple concurrent projects, maintaining quality, deadlines, and coordination

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in architectural lighting design within commercial, workplace, or hospitality environments
  • Strong understanding of lighting principles, fixture types, photometrics, and controls
  • Familiarity with building codes, energy standards, and sustainability frameworks relevant to lighting solutions connected to engineering strategies

Software & Digital Tools

  • Proficient in Revit (including family creation and scheduling), AutoCAD
  • Skilled in lighting calculation tools: AGi32, DIALux, or Relux
  • Rendering tools: Enscape, Lumion, or equivalent
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), Bluebeam, Microsoft Office

Design Thinking & Communication

  • Strong design sensibility and an ability to articulate lighting concepts visually and verbally
  • Collaborative approach to problem-solving and interdisciplinary integration
  • Proactive communicator, organised, and detail-oriented

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field
  • Membership or pursuit of credentials from IALD, IES, or similar (preferred)

How the role is structured

  • You will be in the ETS (Engineering, Technology and Sustainability) global team
  • You will be based in Manila, with a direct reporting line into the regional ETS leadership,
  • based in Singapore
  • Your KPI's will be individually focused, directly connected to the ETS global strategy
  • You will have direct access, and mentoship, with our global lighting leader, based in New York
  • We will support you with onboading and training through our global support teams
