Job Description

The Legal Counsel exists to provide comprehensive legal support across the company, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks and protecting the company's interests. This role operates within the bounds of law and regulatory compliance, with the objectives of mitigating legal risks and facilitating smooth business operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Legal Advisory and Support: Provide legal advice on contracts, regulatory, governance and compliance

• Compliance and Regulatory Management: Develop compliance programs, conduct audits, ensure adherence to laws

• Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation, coordinate with external counsel, develop resolution strategies

• Corporate Governance: Oversee corporate practices and maintain records

• Risk Management: Identify legal risks, develop mitigation strategies, manage organizational risks

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with stakeholders, represent the company at events

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or Juris Doctor)

• Minimum of 5 years of legal practice in a law firm

• Minimum of 1 year experience as in-house lawyer of a company

• At least at the Senior Associate level (or equivalent) in a law/consulting firm.

• Extensive experience in corporate/commercial law and regulatory compliance

• Member in good standing of the Philippine Bar

• Corporate Law and Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of corporate and commercial legal frameworks and compliance requirements, ensuring the company meets all legal obligations.

• Insights into Legal Issues: Specific insights into legal matters pertinent to real estate, construction, information technology, telecommunications, data security, privacy laws and other laws that are relevant to the business.

• Risk Management: Skills in identifying and mitigating potential legal risks that could impact the company.

• Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts to protect the company's interests effectively.

• Litigation Management: Skills in managing and overseeing litigation matters, including strategy development and negotiation.
