Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

We are hiring a QA Lead Engineer for a leading US-based client. You will partner with engineering, product and architecture to deliver reliable, scalable software. You will own test strategy and execution across functional, integration and non-functional testing, so teams hit delivery dates without trading off quality.

Shift and work mode

• US shift, aligned to Pacific Time (approx. 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM IST)
• Full-time, work from office

What you will do

• Test strategy: define test strategies and plans with engineers, BSAs and architects; find scenarios, edge cases and risks early
• Functional and integration testing: validate back-end services, APIs and front-end apps; test REST and event-driven systems, microservice workflows and state-based processes
• Data integrity: verify data across RDBMS and NoSQL systems
• Automation: build and maintain UI, API and integration test suites and plug them into CI/CD pipelines
• Non-functional testing: validate performance, scalability and resilience; support load, stress and reliability testing; check security and compliance with the security team
• Defect management: log defects with clear reproduction steps, triage with engineers, verify fixes and stop regressions
• Quality advocacy: join backlog refinement, sprint planning and retrospectives; give early feedback that prevents defects
• Continuous improvement: raise QA standards and cut manual testing through automation

What you need

• 7+ years in Quality Assurance, Test Engineering or Software Testing with agile teams
• Strong grasp of the SDLC
• Testing web applications, APIs and distributed systems
• Hands-on with UI and API test automation frameworks
• Testing microservices and event-driven systems
• RESTful APIs, JSON and HTTP
• RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Jira or similar test management and defect tracking tools
• CI/CD integration of automated tests
• Sharp analytical skills, attention to detail and clear communication
