The Mission

Voltai is not just building an app; we are building the digital grid for the Philippines EV

revolution. We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to take full ownership of our

battery-swap ecosystem.

In this role, you aren't just maintaining a productyou are the architect of the entire Platform,

from the telemetry streaming off our IoT batteries to the cloud-based logic that controls our swap

stations. You will oversee our current generation of software while leading the charge in

designing the proprietary, high-scale infrastructure of our future.

Key Areas of Ownership

1. Full-Stack Platform Sovereignty

System Orchestration: Own the end-to-end integration between our physical swap

cabinets, the backend charging logic, and the user-facing mobile experience.

Feature Evolution: Identify gaps in our current systems and either develop custom

modules yourself or direct technical partners to implement high-impact enhancements.

The 60-Second Swap UX: Obsess over the rider experience. You will optimize the

interface to ensure that delivery ridersoperating in high-pressure, outdoor

environmentscan swap and go with zero friction.

2. Big Data & GCP Architecture

IoT Data Lake: Architect a scalable ingestion layer using GCP Pub/Sub and Cloud

Functions to capture real-time telemetry (voltage, temperature, location) from

thousands of battery packs.

Predictive Analytics: Utilize BigQuery and Dataflow to turn raw data into actionable

intelligence, such as predicting battery demand at specific stations or monitoring State of

Health (SoH).

Future-Proofing: While we are currently on GCP, you will have the autonomy to

recommend and implement the best-in-class tools (Edge computing, specialized

databases) to keep Voltai at the cutting edge.

3. Strategic Integration

API First: Build and manage the middleware that unifies our hardware data with internal

business tools, ensuring Voltai has a single, real-time source of truth.

Technical Roadmap: Work directly with leadership to decide what we build in-house

versus what we integrate, shaping the long-term technical Moat of the company.

The Technical Profile

Expertise: 5+ years of software engineering experience. You should be comfortable

moving between a React Native mobile environment and a Node.js/Python backend.

Cloud Mastery: Strong familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or a proven

ability to architect complex systems on AWS/Azure and a willingness to lead our GCP

evolution.

System Design: You think in terms of Systems, not just Tickets. You understand how

a lag in an API can lead to a frustrated rider at a physical cabinet.

IoT Awareness: Experience or a strong interest in MQTT, WebSockets, or BLEthe

protocols that allow software to talk to machines.
