Responsible for: As the Lead, Paid Search (SEM), you will play a pivotal role in refining and optimising demand capture strategies by leading the development, execution, and optimisation of paid search campaigns.
You will focus on amplifying marketing initiatives, increasing lead quality, driving conversions, and maximising ROI from SEM channels.
This position requires a strategic and analytical leader with deep expertise in SEM platforms, bidding strategies, and performance optimisation, capable of managing significant budgets and leading a virtual team.
Main Activities and Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and manage comprehensive paid search (SEM) strategies across platforms like Google Ads, aligned with the Marketing objectives.
- Lead keyword research, ad copywriting, landing page optimisation, and bidding strategies to maximise lead quality and conversion rates.
- Oversee the day-to-day management and optimization of SEM campaigns, including budget allocation, performance monitoring, and reporting.
- Analyse campaign performance data using tools like Google Analytics and platform reporting to derive insights and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead and mentor the Paid Search Coordinator, fostering their development and ensuring successful campaign execution.
- Collaborate with Content, SEO, and other marketing teams to ensure integrated campaign execution and alignment.
- Utilise marketing automation and CRM platforms to track SEMu0027s contribution to lead generation, nurturing, and conversions.
- Stay abreast of the latest SEM trends, platform updates, algorithm changes, and best practices.
- Manage the SEM budget effectively, track spend, and report on ROI.
Core Competencies: - Expertise in paid search (SEM) strategies, platforms (Google Ads), and best practices.
- Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to interpret complex data sets and optimise campaigns for performance goals (lead quality, conversions, CPA).
- Leadership and mentoring skills to guide and develop junior team members.
- Proficiency in using web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and SEM management platforms.
- Excellent understanding of conversion tracking, attribution modelling, and the B2B buyeru0027s journey.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control in campaign setup and management.
- Ability to manage significant budgets and optimize spend for maximum ROI.
- Agile and adaptable to the fast-paced nature of paid search advertising.
Key Skills and Capabilities: - Proven experience managing large-scale, complex B2B SEM campaigns, preferably in technology or outsourcing sectors.
- Deep expertise in keyword research, bid management strategies, A/B testing, and landing page optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of lead generation, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and marketing funnel management within an SEM context.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (Google Analytics, Power BI, Excel).
- Excellent communication skills for presenting strategies, results, and recommendations.
- Experience with marketing automation and CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
Qualifications and Typical Experience: - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in managing paid search (SEM) campaigns, preferably within B2B environments.
- Proven track record of achieving lead generation, conversion, and ROI targets through SEM.
- Experience managing significant advertising budgets.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior team members is desirable.
- Google Ads certification required other relevant certifications are a plus.
