About The Role

At Orica, we are transforming Global Learning, this includes launching a refreshed learning strategy and reorganising our team to ensure we can deliver maximum value and impact in our business. We are currently seeking an experienced Lead - Learning Design to join our Learning Solutions Team.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for leading all learning design activities, ensuring the creation of effective and engaging learning solutions that meet the needs of our diverse workforce. As the team lead, you will guide and support our vendors and external teams while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee and lead the design, development, and maintenance of a portfolio of learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with Learning Partnering Team to define capability requirements and skills needs, ensuring learning solutions are aligned with business objectives and performance improvement goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to source existing solutions that can be used or adapted, or create new solutions when necessary.
  • Develop high level designs for activities, materials, and evaluation approaches for learning solutions with the support of external partners.
  • Manage external providers engaged in developing learning solutions and maintain a portfolio of solutions.
  • Ensure the adoption and enablement of business process excellence, while monitoring and optimizing the utilization of team resources and budget.

What you will bring

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in instructional design, learning experience design or a related field, with human centred and blended learning approaches.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and implementing learning solutions that address various skill and knowledge gaps.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning technologies (e.g., eLearning, virtual classrooms, LMS).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
