Quanta Philippines ROHQ provides engineering design services that support global infrastructure projects across power, industrial, and utility sectors. The engineering teams handle disciplines such as mechanical/piping, electrical/E&I, and other technical design work used in largescale energy and infrastructure systems. These services ensure Quanta's international operating units receive highquality and costeffective engineering support aligned with global standards.
The Principal Electrical Engineer serves as the discipline's technical authority, leading the development, validation, and assurance of complex electrical engineering solutions across Concept, FEED, and Detailed Engineeringincluding advanced system studies, equipment specifications, protection coordination, and multidiscipline integrationaligned with global standards such as IEC, ISO, NEC, IEEE, and NFPA. The role drives engineering excellence by providing expert judgment, resolving highlevel technical challenges, guiding and developing engineering teams, and ensuring all electrical deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, quality, and performance across largescale onshore and offshore projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of BS Electrical Engineering or any related engineering discipline.
- Working knowledge in Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL) preferred.
- Working knowledge of AVEVA instrumentation and SP3D/E3D preferred.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Quanta Philippines ROHQ and its customers.
- Strong background in discipline work and a competent understanding of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices.
- Experience in attending/input to safety reviews such as HAZOP/LOPA/HAZID/SIL
- Perform and review System Study (short circuit, load flow, motor start up, etc.) relay coordination using ETAP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Quanta Philippines ROHQ and customer's applicable statutory and regulatory specifications on time and within budget.
- Initiate, manage, and deliver instrumentation engineering project requirements.
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures, ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- Prepare/Check and Approve as required project deliverables such as Electrical Load List, Engineering Specifications, Datasheets, Schematic Diagrams, Connection & Interconnection Diagrams, Termination drawings, Cable Schedule, etc.
- Carryout Voltage drop and Cable sizing calculations. Earthing and Lightning Calculation, Load List.
- Prepare Material Requisition for Electrical Equipment's such as SWGR/ MCC, Transformer, VFD, etc.
- Prepare Technical Bid Evaluation.
- Perform Vendor Document Review for electrical and other discipline.
- Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions and conduct technical bid evaluations.
- Assist with project budgeting and schedule requirements.
- Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Quanta Philippines ROHQ and its customer's requirements.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in instrumentation engineering.
- Communicate effectively with the instrument engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
- Direct and/or participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
