Role Summary:

The Key Accounts Specialist (KAS) will be in charge of improving the total Viatris sales and market share in assigned retail accounts. Overall objectives are to ensure that we give patients prescribed with our products the best opportunity to purchase the brand prescribed by their doctor and to find ways to increase point-of-sale recommendation through driving the conversation between clerks and shopper-patients at ground level.

The KAS will be responsible for defined metrics in defined regions/key accounts. These metrics will include availability of products, consistency of sell in and inventory management, execution and implementation of trade marketing programs and point-of-sale retail strategies. This person will also work with other KAS, Channel Development Managers and Trade Marketing Manager to share insights from ground level that can influence retail and trade marketing strategies.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Work with account branches to ensure availability, inventory management, and execution of point-of-sale retail strategies.
  • Establish strong business relationship with VP's, Area Managers, District Managers and Branch Managers of the assigned key account.
  • Ability to design and create tailor fitted programs for assigned account, territory or set of accounts.
  • Strong market knowledge and business acumen.
  • Understand the customer journey at retail and drive retention and loyalty through execution of trade marketing strategy and retail account management. Map branches according to opportunity and create specific strategies to address customer needs.
  • Achieve KPIs set by leadership; set and monitor achievement and points for improvement across major accounts.
  • Ensure prescription fulfillment at POS through branch relationship, management and pharmacy education.
  • Initiate HCP education to ensure brand top of mind and recommendation among Pharmacists, Pharmacy Assistants and Clerks in handled accounts.
  • Collaborate heavily with Sales team in achievement of shared goals in the area of demand, availability, inventory and prescription traffic.
  • Gather trade insights, branch stakeholders feedback to improve ways of working
  • Support the Channel Development Manager in the achievement of revenue goals, availability, sufficiency at store level.
  • Collaborate with other functions to drive the business as needed (Marketing, Medical, Supply Chain, Finance, etc)
  • Track account performance against sales targets and KPIs.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, account status, and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends and customer data to support decision-making.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • With a background on retail sales and account management
  • Highly skilled in negotiation, retail strategy and resource management
  • Proficient in data analysis and has excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills
  • Proven track record in driving revenue and market expansion
